Hello Students! This is where you will come to find out about your assigments for our class.

Don't forget to let me know if you have any questions or problems with your assignments.

 

Let's get started with "All About Me"  a powerpoint presentation project based on the survey that you completed.

 

Introduction to Discovery:  Powerpoint Presentation: All About Me.

(requires parental permission to use photo for inclass only project)

Students use the information from their All About Me Survey and incorporate their comments, pictures, sound effects and music to create a multimedia presentation all about themselves.   See  All about Me on the student assignment handout.

Project 2:

Ongoing Piano Keyboarding Unit- Students will meet in the music room to play the portable keyboard units. See the assigments page for more online activities.

Online Piano Fun Visit The Music Lab and play a tune.

 

Project 3:  Self-study project can be Science, Math or Social Studies related or you can concentrate on learning how to be a expert at typing. Ask for help from the teacher if you want to do a self-study project.

Project 4: Write a play.

You must start with a prologue and epilogue ( an introduction that tells who, what, when and where the story is taking place and an ending (a detailed paragraph about what happened to the characters it should tell what may happen next and let us know that the story has come to an end. Please do not use The End.)    

Use the animals as your characters and decide what would they say. 

Create Your Senario

Check your ideas with your Write a Story Handout.  Does your play have a begining, a middle and an ending?  Do the characters talk to one another about the story and show what is happening?   

 
Project 5:  Learn the Basics of Chess or Improve your Game.

Mastering Musical Skills with Music ACE

Ask your parents to download the free demo software from Harmonic Vision and learn a musical concept on your computer.  Click

Project:  Reading Circle: Junie B. Jones  Book Club Activities.

Read a book from the Junie B. Jones series and be prepared to talk about it. 

Read  or re-read your favorite book in the series.   Then we will have activities that relate to the book, book discussions and more...

Project Details: 
Project 1 will be peer critiqued as well as graded by the teacher.  A rubric will accompany the instructions for completion of the project.  Student work on folder will be completed at home and research for the folder's content will be online or from media resources at school.
 
Project 2 and Project 3 will be peer critiqued as well as graded by the teacher.  A rubric will accompany the instructions for completion of the project.  Student work will be completed online at school.
 
Projects 4-8 will be non-graded unless the student that select it wishes to be evaluated or critiqued .
